Charlie Shows His Dance Moves

Sarah Brin
was lucky enough to have seen Charlie in real life. (I'm watching the end of Dan in Real Life right now...). This video needs to be shared with the world as much as possible.

Honey!

I recently sold a honey bee necklace to Jacy of Beeyond the Hive. It might be the most adorable and delicious looking website I've ever been to! She is a fourth generation beekeeper, and with fellow bee enthusiast (and sister) Jamie, started Beeyond the Hive to reach a wider, fresher customer base for their family's honey business.Go to their website. It is just lovely.

New iPhone confusion.

So I got an iPhone. And I downlaoded something so I can post pictures i take. But I can't get it to go to my blog, only my twitter, and who wants that? Anyway, pretend this was posted directly from my phone. I was finishing up a new wacky ring which I will post tomorrow.

Cows

Two baby cows! How cute? One was a boy, one was a girl. Sweet hearts perhaps?

Also, for a very long time I told everyone that these kinds of cows were clones because they all looked the same. Not true.

Good Boyfriend.

I love presents.
I HATE surprises.
I think I hate surprises more than I love presents.
No, I would get a present even if it meant having it be a surprise.
But I usually won't stand for them.
Which is why when Ben told me he bought be a present bought I wouldnt get it for 4-6 weeks, I forced it out of him.
A subscription to Print Magazine! I'm going to be so much smarter in 4-6 weeks. Thanks Ben!

Rainbow Maker!!

Last year I bought my dad a rainbow maker from the Museum of Science in Boston.

It is a delight.

Here I am, sitting on the couch, watching Degrassi repeats on MTV (who knew?) and little rainbow fragments are swirling around the room! The walls, the ceiling, the windows, the dog, the couch. Everywhere! I suggest you buy one.

Druuuuuzy

New druzy earrings! I want them to be worn to a glamorous New Year's Eve party, with a big pearl necklace and black silky dress, don't you? Kirby's nose seems to like it, at least.

Wax Seals

I decided to put a wax seal on the top of the boxes with jewelry that I send out! I used the R from the flea market that I found in DC (see below post!) and think its pretty nifty so far. Thoughts? I think I'd like to try gold wax...red is a tad gory. But maybe that just a residual Halloween attitude.

Pillow Talk

Have you ever seen the great show Undeclared? It was a short lived but well loved show by Judd Apatow with all of your favorite actors in it, including Jason Segel. In one episode he makes his girlfriend/ex girlfriend a pillow case with his face on it to win her back.

When Ben moved to DC, I thought I'd do the same. Only mind isn't as elaborate:

Real me on the left, pillow me on the right, real ben hiding in pillow me.

In conclusion, if you ever need a gift, esp. if your significant other is going to be away from you for a while, this will be a sure fire hit.

Things from a trip.

Something amazing happened in DC. We were at a flea market in Eastern Market, and I found a table FULL of old printing press metal letters. So many fonts, sizes, logos! It was amazing. I had just enough time to put this together before the old curmudgeonly fellow growled, " Can't take pictures, I gotta sell those things."I was able to nab a great R and P (initials) because I want to start sealing my jewelry packages with a stamped wax seal.

I also fell in love with this green-doored house:And at the Lincoln Memorial, we stalked/kept crossing paths with this couple in wedding attire being photographed by a photographer. It was rainy out but she was so carefree and happy!
And of course, we took lots of pictures of ourselves.

DC

Boy oh boy, weekends go by quickly these days.

1) I can't believe it is November.
2) I took some pretty pretty pictures that I will post when I get home tomorrow.
3) I bought Up in The Air to read on the flight over, (which is now a movie with George Clooney apparently) and bought Motherless Brooklyn for the flight back. The former is about a guy who flies a lot, which is always fun to read about on a plane. The second is about a guy with Touretts who lives in Brooklyn and works for the mob. Also fun.

Away We Go (to DC)

Ok Gang (assuming at least a gang of people read this), I'll be gone for a few days to DC starting tomorrow. Like I said in an older post, the Rachels are reuniting, along with our dear friends Noah and Ben. There's a lovely blurry photo of everyone except me, so you can feel like you are there!

I'll try to update from the road. If you're lucky.

Cocktail Ring

I just finished this splendid amethyst cocktail ring! Isn't is shiny and lovely and perfect? The setting is neat because a) i made it completely from scratch, and b) the band kind of flares out at the top so that the stone hovers above the finger, which lets the purple really sparkle because light can get in the bottom!

Love Chip

I was scarfing down a bag of tortilla chips yesterday when I found this chip.

I swear I didn't alter this photo in any way.

Benjamin, I dedicate this Green Mountain Gringo Tortilla Chip to you, my love.

There's something wrong with esther

Have you seen The Orphan? I'm watching it now. I can't wait to see what the twist is!

Maybe I'll be Esther for Halloween..

More weenies. And teeth.

Today I finished Agate Mouth #2.

I don't think I'll ever tire of cutting teeth out of silver with a saw. I love how it comes out so much!! This one looks like its growling to me.

I also made a new weenie dog, who is just asking for a word to be stamped on him. Ween? Weenie? Doxie?

Big question:

I'm making a new something.
So far it looks like this:

Yes ma'am and sir, that is a diamond on the end of the little stalk. and on the other one a little gold ball.

SO, stylish and smart readers, should it be a pendant or a ring?

The Apple Crisp Adventure, or, That time the butter exploded in the microwave

Tonight, I cooked.

For most people, this isn't anything news worthy.

I, on the other hand, can count on my fingers the amount of times I've cooked a successfull anything. And by golly, tonight is one of those times!

Thanks to my old suite mate Amy, I found Joy the Baker. There I found this apple crisp recipe.

And, an hour and 8 minutes later, I have this! And also a really buttery microwave. Gross. And even though it has a stick of butter and almost 2 cups of sugar, it has apples and oats, so it's healthy, right?

P.S- Peeling apples is the pits.

Gold!

Feast your eyes on this opulent piece of beauty! I felt like a Victorian gypsy when I put it on. I oxidized the silver bezel to give it a darker look. Question- bright gold chain (right now its on a gold filled one) or darker oxidized silver one? Hm.

Thirst.

I. Am. Thirsty. So I made some lemon water.

Also funny, this picture is from a website called I Want My Sexy Back.
