Dew Covered Disco Ball Ring?

I recently made a purchase of three bright pink drusies from Etsy! I immediately made a delicate looking little ring with a frosted silver band and bezel. It's so hard to take good pictures of these stones!

Good evening all.

Just wanted to post a link to An Alliteration, where I was featured tonight as a successful Etsy seller!!! I was just tickled pink to be asked!

Hm. What else, what else. I really want to take a quick trip down to NYC with Ben for a night and run around and have fun, any suggestions for great/cheap hotels??

I sure do love being mentioned in blogs! And thanks to a recent Etsy front page appearance, I made it into a few beautiful ones. Go explore.

Love in the shadows

This morning I saw the sun light streaming through the saw cuts of my "love" ring, and had to take a picture.

Opal Nest Ring

It's been so warm lately that I was inspired to make a little opal egg nest ring! How do we like it? Can you tell that opal part in the middle is shaped like a wee little birdie??

New Purple Drusy Ring

Lo and behold, the last purple drusy ring until I get some more of the stones.

I'm obsessed with making those little silver balls. Help!

Talk about nail biters!

This little boy was me watching the movie A Perfect Getaway with Steve Zahn from 2009.

Good. Grief.

My two movie watching companions weren't as crazy about it as I am, but let me tell you. If you like cheap thrills and good endings, watch this movie. But I think I might like bad movies way more than good movies. That's okay, right?

Coat Hanger- Part Deux

Okay. So, in this great (sort of expensive) consignment store in Brattleboro, I found some beautiful wrought iron hooks made by a horse shoe maker guy up in the mountains of Vermont! Only $3.00 each. So I got two different kinds.

And then I went to a hardware store and bought a few brass screws.

And then using a power drill, I drilled the hooks to the wood.

I think I need a drill bit to pre-drill holes in the wall to screw in the whole shebang. So for now, it will be leaning against the wall on the floor. The top image is the finish product. I had to use some glitter to cover up some iffy hexagons...not perfect, but a good first try!

Finished!

Good News!

Coat Hanger

We are just in a DIY mood lately. It must be the fresh country air.

I posted earlier about cool wall hooks I've been seeing. So I decided to make my own!

I'll be posting the steps as I do them.

First, i printed out a honeycomb image I found online.
Then I cut out each hexagon using an Xacto knife.

It took a long time.

Especially since I was indulging in wine.

Then I painted the piece of wood yellow! Or maybe I painted the piece of wood yellow, and THEN cut out the stencil.

And then, using very amateur stenciling techniques, I put the tile on the piece of wood, and using a black sponge paint brush, I sort of mushed in the blue paint into the hexagon spaces. Obviously, it needs a tad touching up.

So, that's it so far. I finished the piece of wood. Still have to fix up the yellow spots. And buy some kind of hooks tomorrow to screw on. !! Can't wait to hang all the stuff on our floors on it!

Beer Beer We Made Our Own Beer

Okay, that title might be misleading. Ben made his own beer, I didn't really help at all. He's even considering calling the beer "Rachel Didn't Help Ale." And the beer isn't ready yet, we have to wait like, four weeks.

I'm glad I got that off my chest.

Anyway, that's Ben up there! He's using a copper coil to rapidly cool the brew. Neat.

Spotted

Hilariously in love salt and pepper shakers.

- Posted using Mobypicture.com

It's official.

If having to take a fake photo was a challenge on America's Next Top Model, and I'm on the show, I would not win the challenge. I cannot squint attractively. Sigh. That's why this picture is not a very accurate portrayal of photography. On a happier note, do we all like the new camera necklace?

Spring Storms

Doesn't this ring sort of remind you of a spring storm? The dark blue, the clouds. I can smell the rain already.

Yellow Shoes I Want.

Coffee

This morning, I was just so darned pleased with everything I was using to make coffee, that I had to share it with the world. Side note: it's hard to take a picture and pour boiling water into a filter at the same time. Which is why that photo isn't shown. Because it was bad.

Don't be grossed out...

...But...when I got my hair cut, I sort of started rolling all of the hair that fell into my lap into a ball. And then I sort of made it into a nest. And now I can't stop touching it!

I want to put jelly beans in it and really creep Ben out.

Oops I Craft My Pants

I'm getting all sorts of comments on the "who are you?" post, and one is from Kira, of Oops I Craft My Pants. Hands down, the best name of ANYTHING ever. Anyhoo, she's a gal from Alabama with a pretty pretty crafty blog. She made this fun jewelry tree. I like the idea of collaging a can and filling it with gems! Smart!
