My friend came over the other night (a boy), hoping I would help him creatively wrap a bundle of presents for a gal he has his eye on. The paper is a page from a HUGE calendar from the MOMA store that my brother gave me for a present. I made the flower out of tissue paper that was wrapped around a shirt I bought. Totally recycled, and she even kept the paper! I hope she wraps something else in it.

Pretty picture

I just caught wind of a contest on Martha Stewart's website where the best 10 photographs of crafts win a copy of her new crafty book. I'd rather win one million dollars, (or a job at Martha Stewart), but a book is still pretty sweet. I submitted this picture, plus another one (of lesser quality, sadly) of my old stuffed animal chair. Check out all the pics here!

Look at this bottle!
I was lucky enough to go to a charity dinner a few days ago, and the wine they were so generously supplying for free was from Francis Ford Coppola's company. The "series" was called Encyclopedia, and the bottles were such fun! After a few glasses I finally asked the kindly bartender what he was going to do with the empty bottles, and after some conspiring and hidden purse opening and zipping, I left with one of the lovely beaker shaped containers. Not sure yet what I'll do with it, but I'll post some after pictures when I know! Any suggestions? All I can think of right now is vase. or decanter.

MAG-nificent solution
This post is a bit on the craftier side of things. I was looking for a spice rack to spice up my minuscule kitchen. True, right now I think the only spices I own are rosemary and...wait...there's another one...oregano. SO maybe I don't need a whole spice rack, but I digress. In my search for a future spice rack, I found this craftastic solution! All the author did was get watch maker tins, hot glue super strong magnets to the backs, and affixed them to the oven. In another picture, the are on the wall. I can't wait to try it! Go here for complete instructions.

Funny things on the train.
Hello.
I've been noticing lots of funny things on the train lately. (I live in Boston). And I really really wish I carried around a camera.
the first thing was a guy, pretty bulky, wearing a leather jacket and baseball cap, sitting across from me. At first he looked like a regular joe, but then I realized a tiny little brown puppy was zippered up in his coat, just so that his head was poking out! And the puppy would crane his head around, and the big guy would blow on his face and in his ear and talk puppy talk to him!
I guess you'll just have to imagine it.
Also, today, two girls were sitting next to each other reading a book by Jodi Picoult. I wanted to point it out to them but I didn't.
In other news,
I found this lovely blog, Black Box Reviews, who said some lovely words about my newest Pacman earrings! http://blackboxreviews.blogspot.com/.
She also posted about an Etsy shop that sells this Valentines Day Card:
