Pretty Package

My friend came over the other night (a boy), hoping I would help him creatively wrap a bundle of presents for a gal he has his eye on. The paper is a page from a HUGE calendar from the MOMA store that my brother gave me for a present. I made the flower out of tissue paper that was wrapped around a shirt I bought. Totally recycled, and she even kept the paper! I hope she wraps something else in it.

Plum Pretty Sugar Blog!

Plum Pretty Sugar was kind enough to include my honey comb necklace on her blog! And what a beautiful blog it is. She also has a lovely Etsy shop where she sells the beautiful lounge wear that she creates. I am obsessed with this kimono, and perhaps when I save enough moolah, will get it!

Pretty Bike

Whilst perusing my friend Sarah Brin's great blog (Internet IS Magic!), I found a picture she posted of this awesome bike. If only I had stronger muscles in my thighs so that I could actually ride up a minor hill.

Pretty picture

I just caught wind of a contest on Martha Stewart's website where the best 10 photographs of crafts win a copy of her new crafty book. I'd rather win one million dollars, (or a job at Martha Stewart), but a book is still pretty sweet. I submitted this picture, plus another one (of lesser quality, sadly) of my old stuffed animal chair. Check out all the pics here!

More Sprouts!

Sprouts have been on the mind lately. This afternoon I finished up these little gems. I didn't have two matching cabochons the right size, but these little flat plastic beads fit into the settings just so, and I love how they look. Aren't they lovely?

Sprouts!

I just made two new necklaces. It was almost 90 degrees today. Flowers are on my mind!

Answers, I need answers! (and giveaway??)

 Welcome summer!

1) I counted 5 of those gym-bag-esque Longchamp nylon totes with leather straps going to work today. I must be missing something about them. Why are they so popular??

2) I think I love sitting in the train station watching ladies go by, admiring their work clothes. Weird? (Today I wore a knee length dark denim skirt with a loosey goosey yellow tee shirt tucked in, and thought I was being so fashion forward. False! Everyone was wearing skirts with shirts tucked in. A strappy strappy flat sandals.)

3)I made a new homepage for my website. Do we like it? Too weird? Also, I'm thinking about changing my "line" from Rachel Ann Designs (I'm pretty sure there are 5,000 of those) to Rachel Says Hi. How do we feel about that?

So, you, dear reader, have some homework. Answer those three questions above in comment form! I will pick one lucky winner, who will be rewarded with something most delightful. Maybe a Bullet Buddy?? This will end Sunday night! If I remember.

I need it.

Would you look at this! I can't even tell you how many times I see something out in the world and think, if only I could have that color. This is the blurb from Incrediblethings.com:

Nature is treasure trove of endless color. Now you can capture those glorious hues with a device called the Color Picker, which allows you to take any color, from any source, at any time. The color is detected and scanned by the color sensor, and the RGB cartridge inside the pen mixes the required inks to create the target color. Want a red as brilliant as a Macintosh apple, green as fresh as spring's first blossoms? With the Color Picker, they're at your fingertips and on paper in seconds.

Amazing!!

Freckles

I was sitting in the car yesterday, with my foot up on the windshield (don't worry, I wasn't driving). And noticed a freckle on the side of my middle toe I had never seen before. It was a funny little moment.

Also, I figured out what Ben is getting me for my big 2-3 coming up in July!

I had emailed him a link to T R Mack's Etsy shop, saying that when we buy art, we should buy one of his paintings first. About 6 hours later, he cracked at dinner and spilled the beans.

I'm pretty sure it looks like the one above.
Which, incidentally, reminds me of freckles. And everything comes full circle.

Bees Knees!

I finally made my honey comb necklace!!
I'm rather pleased.

Once Upon a Flower

My newest creation is a big statement ring, made out of sterling silver. An eye catching flower stamped with the words Once Upon a Time, barely legible, give it a lovely, literary texture. I also like this photograph in black and white. Like it?

Look at this bottle!

I was lucky enough to go to a charity dinner a few days ago, and the wine they were so generously supplying for free was from Francis Ford Coppola's company. The "series" was called Encyclopedia, and the bottles were such fun! After a few glasses I finally asked the kindly bartender what he was going to do with the empty bottles, and after some conspiring and hidden purse opening and zipping, I left with one of the lovely beaker shaped containers. Not sure yet what I'll do with it, but I'll post some after pictures when I know! Any suggestions? All I can think of right now is vase. or decanter.
