New blog find

I love the internet.

Maybe I'll make necklace that says that.

I just found Non Pareil blog, and love everything about it. \
She recently posted, via Poppytalk, about this wonderful Etsy shop, Nea.
A wall hanging made from a vintage embroidery hoop.
What a fantastic and idea! My heart is hearting with the desire to hang this on my wall. Once my own Etsy sales are up, that's where my money is going.

I want this camera. Nikon D60. Does anyone have it? Is it worth it? Do I need an expensive camera? Only time will tell.

And it begins

When did mounted animal heads become so trendy? Who started this craze? Not that I mind, I like it. I even jumped on the band wagon and made this necklace:

I have such big dreams for this blog, but it's getting off to a slow start. I have such admiration for sites like The Function Key, Cup of Joe, Mochatini, Indie Fixx, Oh Joy, Etc.

I'm writing this from my cubicle. My cubicle is full of fun foam, assortments of glues and various other adhesives, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a bag, staplers, tape measures, yogurt covered raisins, and a cool Puma sneaker pattern I found in a recycling store.

I'm also drinking Awake Tazo tea.

Am I doing this right?

Anyway, here are some things I found/found on other blogs that I think deserve to be shared further:

I would do anything to have these hanging from a delightful little hook in my kitchen. Jessica Gonacha Studio, available at Indie Fixx.

I am also in the market for coasters, and these record ones are certainly in the running. Available here .

That's it for now. Time to go steal a reeses peanut butter cup from a candy jar on someone else's desk. Wish me luck!

Ketchup High Five

I was eating ketchup with meat loaf (Thanks mom!) and as I was about to flip the lid on my trusty Heinz, I know an absolutely PERFECT ketchup hand. Can you even believe it? Have you ever loved such a thing as much as this? I don't even know what to do with myself.

Funny Find

Back in Feb. of 2008, I wrote a little review of an art show at the Rose Museum at Brandeis. Whilst recently Google-ing myself (the second most hits on my website comes from people doing a google search for organic. I do not get it), I found this article someone wrote about my article. It tickled me.

Here's my latet post from 2 Modern:

During my routine internet sleuthing, I stumbled upon this website, and couldn't believe I had never heard of it before. I have always wondered how independent designers make things out of laser cut acrylic, wood, and metals, and now I know! Ponoko! I've spent all day long attempting to learn Illustrator, making more designs than can fit on my computer, slamming shut my laptop and storming out of the room. Let me tell you, it's been a roller coaster of a day. I seem to be having issues uploading an image, but maybe you'll have better luck!

It's based out of New Zealand, and is sort of like an Etsy, only you send them designs and they use their magical laser machines to cut them out, and then you can sell your products on their website too. Or anywhere you want, really. There are some really neat things on it! Take a look, let me know how successful you are!

A few of my favorite things

I want my whole apartment papered in Boston's Mod Green Pod wallpaper. Such pretty prints!!

Skinny Love

In case you don't, you must start listening to Bon Iver. His song Skinny Love is constantly stuck in my head, and I was reminded of it after making this necklace, which is hanging from my hand lamp!

Custom Squid

This is a wee little squid I made for someone as a custom order. Their friend just loves squids. I think he's kinda cute.

New store!

Hello all! Now you can buy my goodies straight from the horse's mouth.
