Metallic Moo

What do we think of the first four items in my Metallic Moo collection? I was so excited to use my new leather that I could barely sleep last night!! I love the combination of the soft and floppy leather with the sterling silver.

Finished Cards

Here are some delightful photos of the new jewelry cards in action (and good lighting)!

In other news, I successfully ruined a perfectly beautiful manicure by trying to paint some of the yellow polish over the purple. The results are less than desirable.

This I like.

Cards

A couple of days ago Emily and I spent all afternoon stamping and making display cards for upcoming craft fairs! We got the blanks from the Paper Source, glued on the pretty little circles and flowers, and went stamping crazy!

Emily visits DC

Remember when I went on vacation and my friend Emily posted like, 2 things? Well, she came to visit me in DC this week, and yesterday we had an absolute ball.

First we went to ultra hip Tryst cafe and had my new favorite thing, a Chaipaccino. It's like a latte and a chai combined and tastes like everything I've ever liked in the world. Amazing. As Emily said, it was like drinking a cloud pillow that tasted like Christmas.

I caught Em mid sentence. Mid hilarious sentence.
Note how amazing those drinks look!

Next we went to Dupont Circle to catch a bus to Georgetown, but first stopped in a make-up store. We were drawn in by bright orange nail polish in the window. Little did we know that if we bought the $10.00 polishes, we would get free manicures! and even MORE little did we know, it was part of an effing CVS. It was like Sephora, but if you walked to the back, there was an entry into CVS. I still don't understand, but the nail polish is called POP. And we approve.

And then we went SHOPPING in Georgetown. I know, not the edgiest afternoon. But boy oh boy did we have fun. I tried on a funny flying squirrel dress in H&M.

Then I tried on a shirt that had a really rad back but a really blah front.
I'm so glad sequins are back in a big way.

And then we tried on really funny beard/scarves that I think we should have bought.

And then I bought these shoes after we spent  maybe an hour making a mess in Aldo.

Be Bold

I just finished this chunk o' beauty. I'm pleased with the quote I decided to stamp around the bezel!

"Be bold, be bold, and everywhere be bold."- Herbert Spencer.

What's more appropriate for a bolder than bold ring?

Weekend

Hello friends!

This weekend just flew by, didn't it? Two night ago we went to our friend's house for a David Wax Museum house show, which was a blast. Some photos!

Pretty Poppies

I recently discovered the stairwell in the apartment building next to the elevator, and it's AMAZING. It's bright and white and breezy with huge windows. It's like a little porch. up high, with glass windows. Anyway, it's going to be my new photo studio I think. Above is a new picture I took of the vase necklace hanging on the wall in the stairwell landing. I dotted the flowers with a little pink nail polish to give it some color.

Here is the view out the window:

New Gap Logo?

My app making brother just made a funny thing where you can type something and it will make it look like the new silly Gap logo. I love the old one! And now there's all sorts of trouble because the Gap said "ok ok if you dont like the new logo, show us your designs! Maybe we'll use it!" and then everyone got mad again.

Anyway, here's the app if you want a fun little distraction from your day:  http://craplogo.me/post.php?name.

Neck Flowers!

I've been meaning to make a functioning vase necklace for a while now, and I love how this one looks! I filled it with a teeny tuft of baby's breather. I'm having trouble deciding which picture should be the main thumbnail image in the shop- which is your favorite?

Coffee Shop Shoot

My lovely (and dimpled!) friend Lauren agreed to be my model for the afternoon in Tryst Cafe in Adams Morgan.  Some of my favorite pictures:

Thanks Lauren!!

Room with a View

Scene from above my bed:

you ARE delightful

I think this piece makes a much better necklace than it did ring (which is what I changed it from).

I do love the colors of this photo, though! I'm wearing the fiance's green cardigan (which he rarely wears, which I think I'll start wearing far more often) from Uniqlo, and a funny little shirt with a face that my brother bought me.

Periwinkle Dreamin'

FINALLY I made something with this stone I picked up in Turkey! I love how it turned out! I feel so fancy when I have it on it makes me want to go to a cocktail party!

I'm also having trouble tearing myself away from this Law and Order SVU marathon to go do errands. AND whenever I sit on the left side of our couch I smell macaroni and cheese. WHY?!

But it's so pretty!

I want this roll of tape more than anything at this very second.

But I don't know what I would do with it.

But I still want it.

...but now i want a sandwich...

Cozy

Now I wouldn't mind tromping through the snowy streets in these bad boys.

Workbench Clean-up

Today I took a few minutes to clean up my work area. It was making me nervous. So, for all you curious cathy's out there, here are a couple photos! This is, as they say in Cribs, where the magic happens.

new bits

I overcame my jeweler's block and made these two little gems yesterday!

This malachite pendant reminds me of a little insect! I think I'm in love with him.
I've had the stone for a long time and couldn't think of what to do with it, and then finally I was inspired to use it! Quite pleased, if I do say so myself.

And THEN i made this funky ring that is open on
top, made out of two pretty beads I found recently. It reminds of those oil stickers I used to collect during my sticker collection days. Remember those? You could push them and squish  the rainbowy oil around inside? whatever happened to those??

Ahhh I loveeeed them. I think they were called Oilies? Anyone?
(stickers found here)

Anyway, I saw The Social Network tonight. Very enjoyable! And I got a blister than completely covers my entire pinky toe. I am not exaggerating. It's the worst.
