I had a couple of ladies over to look at my collection for an upcoming trunk show in Silver Spring, MD in the Fall (stay tuned for more info). So that meant cleaning the apartment so it looked as lovely as could be, buying weird dyed flowers that I thought were pretty but might look tacky but I still think are pretty, and lay out my jewelry in a nice way. Here's how it looked:

On a side note, I decided to try out suspenders:

My funny flowers that dyed the water, which was kind of neat:

I guess that's all the fun stuff for now. Sitting in Flying Fish Cafe in Mt. Pleasant, watchig a very very very VERY cute puppy in the window. Hang on, I'll take a pic.

eh, too hard. He's small, low to the ground, black, very cute tongue. And his owner is getting him now. TOO CUTE. he's off his leash!! what a good dog!

ok. That's it. off to Target to return a horrendous dress. BYE

Me and Julia cheers-ing on the pool roof.

LIFE ROUND UP

My birthday was the third! Yippee!

I went to Park Rapids in Minnesota with Ben's family for the week, which was delightful.

Did you know they make scrabble cheesitz??

We boated. I drank lots of Shandys.

In jewelry news, I have a new line of drusy rings called Drusy: Deluxe!

That's it! Nothing too exciting going down in these parts. It's a record high temp today of over 100 in DC, so I'm not doing much of anything today! What are you up to this weekend?

Monday, June 18, 2012

Hey gang! This weekend I was in NYC with B. We had a most delightful time, and on Saturday walked all over. Including across the Brooklyn Bridge, which I've always wanted to do.

Why is Brooklyn Bridge in quotes??
Everyone was eating these mangos on sticks (only girls, might I add) so when we found the person selling them I had to get one. IT WAS DELICIOUS.

I love this picture of us. That arrow on the ground cracks me up.

And I was taking photos of this red striped water tower, and later saw this picture that resulted from it. I was so confused!! It looks like the jogger is some huge graffiti, but the camera just caught him at a wacky time.

The next day we spent in Westchester at Ben's grandma's 93rd birthday, which was delightful as always. I was pleased as punch to be able to wear my camel dress again, along with my new pink Jcrew shoes which I'm in love with and which only gave me the most minor of blisters!

I also wore one of my triple triangle necklaces, which I can't live without now.

The lobsters at the birthday party matched my dress! (and have you ever seen so many lobsters!?)

So, what's cookin?

This weekend my mumsy and brother (aka the other half of Stitchtagram) are coming up (or down I guess), and even though I've been cleaning the apartment constantly all week, I still have much to do, like washing a million blankets and sheets that have been sitting in our linen closet.

Anyhoo. I made this yesterday:

Which is just so sparkly I can't stop staring at it!

This is what happened to my manicure, after two short days:

And I also made these earrings which I am totes in loves with:

I'm also in the market for a new, perfect wallet!!!! Suggestions? Tips where to look? I went from having an enormous, oversized one, to a teeny tiny ridiculously small one.

Now I want just a regular person one.

Thursday, May 31, 2012

Well gang, today I got a Coppola Keratin Express Blow Out (I think that's what it was called at least.)

My friend Julia was going to get it done, and we have quite similar hair, and I've been hankering for a change, so I thought I'll go to!

So basically it just straightens and smooths the hair for a few weeks. In the summer especially my hair can get pretty wild and frizzy and out of control.

I took a before:

After!

You aren't supposed to get it wet for up to three days. or sweat. or put your hair behind your ear. or put it in a point tail. or use any type of clip. so that should be easy!

Anyway, that was my day so far! And a bunch of other stuff. Also, Ben wrote an amazing article about going hunting in Florida with a congressman, during which he killed a boar AND scarred his head with the gun. Check it here!

Hey! I hope your Memorial Day Weekend was just lovely. It's quite warm here in DC. I am always that person who is sitting in the dark living room eating fruit salad when everyone is sweating it out on the deck for a bbq. I just would rather be cool, that's all!

Anyway, this little piece ran about me last week on Huffing Post DC which I figured I'd share!

And that's really it! I bought a hat from Target that looks just like one from Anthropologie for $10, and I'm still not sure I pull it off.

And since we're on the topic of me, I loved wearing my new drop earrings about town this weekend, which you can get here!

Monday, May 21, 2012

hey hey hey!!

I went to Florida this weekend with my mama, daniela, and her mama. Some photos: (mostly of daniela)

My dear old mumsy.

We went on a hilarious pirate ship booze cruise.

I got this shirt from TJ Maxx that I'm absolutely obsessed with. Also, I want Daniela's sunglasses from Anthropologie.

One of these houses is Hulk Hogan's ex-wife's. And one is Sylvester Stalone's mom's. hahahah.

Famous!

This place had the best coasters!

So that's about it. We went on a fake pirate ship, and drank a good deal.

Now I'm back and it's rainy and I'm drinking my luke warm coffee and about to pack up a bunch of bike necklaces! What are you up to this monday?

AGHHH

I haven't posted in so long, the layout for blogger is totally different!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS IS.

So. What's up. Pillows. That's what. And jewelry. Basically pillows and jewelry. It's insanity. All I do is pack pillows and cart them to fed ex. Sometimes I split them up between two different fed ex's in completely different directions so they don't get annoyed with me. Someone (other than my dad) tell me that's silly!

Anyhoo. I've devised a new bundling plan that will involve some sort of tightening straps that I squeeze the pillows with into columns like a newspaper stack! And then I will toss those babies into the zip car! and toss those babies into the Fedex! Yeah?? are you as excited as I am??

Anyway. I'm drinking white wine and blood orange san pellegrino and have been watching hours upon hours of Parenthood on Netflix. Do. You. Watch. This. Show.

I just started last night and keep alternating between tears and laughter. So emotional! My god! I've watched an embarrassing amount of it since last night.

Please, someone (Emily, other than you. We already have plenty to discuss) say you watch it so we can gab in the comments about it!

In other news, Ben has been off in Florida covering some congressmen for his magazine. He went boar hunting with one. And then he cut his head on the scope of the gun.

He gets home tonight, so I'm sure I'll hear all kinds of stories. I'm pretty sure he ate an alligator burger and said it was amazing.

Also I just painted my nails:

And earlier today I drank this:

And look! My favorite postal worker at the post office gave me a few of these monstrous dirty mail sacks for me to bring packages in!

And then I made all of these.
