And this ring reminds me of some sort of talisman, or something a fortune teller would wear. I really like it! It makes me want to start a line of talisman rings. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

Ooooooh, what else can I tell you. I'm on a major Seinfeld kick, which is good because it is ALWAYS on a channel. And I decided I much purchase turquoise and gold nail polish, and paint all of my fingers one color, and just one on each hand the other color. (Thanks for the tip, Emily!) But seriously. Gold and turquoise is where it's at.

And then I go to NYC on Thursday! So excited!!! A jewelry class!!!!!!!!!!! I've never taken a class before! 

Soon I'll be a flush setting pro!

Celebrate!!

Well gang, I passed 700 sales today without even realizing it!

I'd like to thank the television, for entertaining me all day as I sweat and cut my fingers and almost catch my hair on fire.

I'd like to thank Kathy Lee and Hoda, for sometimes making me laugh, but most of the time for making me cringe.

I'd like to thank Law and Order SVU and House, for almost always being on, all day long. Even if it's 8:00 am, I'm always in the mood for especially heinous crimes or outlandish medical diagnoses.

I'd like to thank the holiday of Passover, because that means I can buy lots of Matzoh, which is all I eat during the day when I'm too lazy to make real food. Matzoh with cream cheese and jelly. Listen to me, it's amazing.

I'd like to thank the coffee maker, which lets me make huge pots of coffee even though I only drink a few sips every morning.

I'd like to thank my neighbors, for not yelling at me for making lots of noise all day long with hammers.

I'd like to thank the post office, even though I have yet to befriend the two generally grumpy workers. I'll break your hard shells yet!

And last but not least, I'd like to thank you. Cheesy but true.

Anyway, I woke up early today and somehow before I knew it, it was 3:00! Where did the time go? I guess it went into these pieces:

First of all, I went to see the Bill Cunningham documentary by myself this afternoon. a) i love matinees, b) i love going to these kinds of movies by myself. Anyway, it inspired me even more to dress as boldly and wildly as possible. No more walking out the door with a crazy hat on just to turn around when I get to the elevator because I don't want to look like a crazy person! No regrets!

Anyhoo, this may or may not be totally boring. Let's hope it's not.

 

This dress had a delightful lace back, which is what drew me to it in the first place. Too bad it makes me look like a frumpy 15 year old!

 

I had such high hope for this shirt! Little did I know the sleeves were strangely slit and the bottom was elastic. 

 

I must admit I liked this, but decided it was trying too hard to be extra hip. Maybe if it was just neon pink, or just a tiger. It also made me want to screen print my own shit. (Can i swear on this blog? Is it a swear-y kind of blog? I think I just decided it is. Only sometimes though.)

 

At the time, this was the most comfortable, attractive, and flattering shirt I ever tried on. I was so excited. It had little buttons on the sleeves. But when I went to buy it, the lines were too long. And now that I look at the picture, it is the most boring thing I've ever seen.

So, were you bored to tears? Or was this mildly entertaining? I guess it doesn't matter either way. I mean, I want you to like me, and read my blog, because sometimes I'm funny. 

Anyway.

Black and Gold Cloud Ring

I think I like the idea of blogging a list of things I need to do. It makes it seem real. I mean, if you read it, that means I have to do it, right? Isn't that how life works?

To Do To Day: 

Make Coffee

finish watching this episode of My Life as Liz. (please don't judge me)

Drink coffee, with milk and a drop of maple syrup

Make heart studs to finish an order.

Make two pairs of oxidized nesty drusy earrings- maybe a pair with turquoise?

Make sure I have all of my supplies for my Flush Settings class at the 92nd St Y next weekend! (famous!)

Clean for basketball watchers tonight.

Figure out wedding band order (look Sarah, you made my list!! obviously!)

Clean Work Bench (3% chance that will get done) 

Find an way to hang or store my jewelry where I can see it, so it doesn't cover all of my chairs, so I don't have to stand and stoop when I make jewelry.

 Make two more pieces of jewelry. Take pictures. List.

FINALLY

So sorry about the week of silence! I was home in Massachusetts, where I 1) worked on jewelry with my dad, and 2) got my hair highlighted red!

I got a teeeny bit dolled up today, just because I felt like it, and also felt like a good ol' stairwell photo shoot.
I fear the cleaning people in the building think I'm a crazy person, and always stare at me like I'm insane when I try to slink out the door without anyone seeing me. Usually someone's waiting outside to mop the floor though. As long as there aren't any security cameras that I haven't spotted!

Usually when I go to the post office I resemble a cat lady (even though I don't have a cat. I actually don't really like cats). Anyway, the woman who deals with me almost every day, who I have yet to have any friendly banter with, said I looked nice and asked if I had a date!  I laughed and said no, which kind of killed the back and forth.

Latest Obsession

Here is my post from yesterday over at 2 Modern:

I just discovered these dreamy hand-crafted leather bags by Brooklyn based A.B.K, and if I ever have enough money to spend $500 on a purse, these would be my choices. They are reminiscent of beautiful, rustic pieces of furniture that might be found in hearty cabins in the woods of Vermont. Sigh. I want to live in one.

And then we went to an Ethiopian restaurant with a Groupon for lunch. Yum.

Entropy, and things.

These earrings were a wild ride to make, let me tell ya.

I have to force myself to stop thinking and just let the winding of the wire take over for a few seconds, until the perfectly nesty-nest starts to form. After that,  there's a lot of precise soldering and adding and moving around bits and pieces of wire until I'm 100% satisfied with the finished product. And these, my dear friends, are a doozy!

 

 

 

New Biz Cards

 I Love Moo Cards, I really do. They are tiny and adorable and can have different pictures on each card!

I also, however, love money.

So I cast aside the cuteness of the Moo and ordered some new square cards from UPrinting!

Sure, not as hip, and I can't have a different picture on each  card, but they are square, which is fun, and cheaper! which is way more fun.

I guess they are pretty similar. 

Sigh. Whenever I used to dye my hair a reddish color I'd get super nervous that it was going to be crazy and bright and then it would never really show up. Maybe I'll get some bleached streaks in there for good measure.
