We embark for Athens this Saturday, and I know I will be bored silly on the plane. Any suggestions for really easy, guilty-pleasure reads that will keep me occupied for 9 hours (plus an 8 hour Montreal lay over?). I'm not talking enriching books. I'm talking a good, scandalous plot. Suggestions?
Love,
RAchel
Take "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire"! I just read the first one and can't wait to get into the second one. They are considered young adult reading but they were great!!!!!
ReplyDeleteooh good to know, i'll see if they are in my used bookstore!
ReplyDeleteif you like crime stories, take stieg larsson's "the girl with the dragon tattoo", plus the two other books in the trilogy. easy to read, very exciting, very entertaining.
ReplyDeleteLook for anything by Phillipa Gregory - she writes saucy historical fiction which is strangely addictive:)
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer...it moves really quickly and he's very entertaining. And the cover is so beautiful. Always, judge a book by its cover.
ReplyDeleteThe Help by Katherine Stockett. It's a really good read and I've sent in my application to be an extra in the movie they are filming this summer in Mississippi! Famous!
ReplyDeleteMy wife likes vanity fair and vogue, US, NY mag She rips out all the adds to reduce the weight.
ReplyDeleteI like the new yorker, the economist, Harper's.
Have a great trip and post photos when your back!
Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. Sex, drugs, knives, food. Oh yes. Puhlease. Have a blast, Rachel! Don't forget to come back...
