I've been fooling around with this ring for a while now, and now I'm pretty pleased with the results! Just need to take some better pictures...

Hair Dare

Back in the day (aka freshman year of college) i would have my dad dyed my hair a lot, usually some kind of punk-ish bright red. And lately I've had the hankering for some red again! So, today I went to Target, got some dye, and am gonna do the deed shortly.

In addition to a pretty wacky shooting star drusy ring with gold leather....which i'll share later.

Wedding Things

Guess what? Weddings are stressful!

Today I destroyed my finger polishing a ring. The polishing wheel got caught in a ring and the ring started spinging around and around and kept hitting my finger. Now it's fine. And here are the resulting rings!

This is Fun

What a busy few days!! There was an opening of the Temporium Pop-up Shop called Garment District in Mt. Vernon (DC), where I pretended to be famous and posed in fron of this thing outside the bar-

THEN I set up at a spa in Alexandria, which was an interesting experience. All I wanted was to get my hair dyed and cut and get a facial, but I held back.

and THEN my friends had a delightful brunch, after which I attempted a bit of a photo shoot.

The first pair sold, so I made a new pair!! The one on the left looks like a girl to me :)

And THIS new favorite ring came out of a failed pendant. But i LOVE LOVE LOVE it as a ring! It's comfortable and bold and artsy and awesome. that is all.

Thanks for all of the support, friends! I sent the necessary documents and information to the company, so let's hope they take down those darn pictures! (See below post to understand what I'm talking about.)

Anyway, now we are watching Watson on Jeopardy. What fun! I saw Alex Trebeck on Regis. What a hoot. Many I love Regis.

And I think Top Model starts tonight???? Maybe I'll start writing adorable and hilarious recaps of the show. Or at least I'll think I'm adorable and hilarious.

Oooh, what else. I still haven't broken my clothing fast!! Happy?

I'm in a super crafty mode but have SO much to dooooooooo. Tomorrow morning I'm off to the Paper Source super early...even though I can probably get what I need for cheaper and for closer at Staples...hmmmmm. Interesting.

I have to make a pair of swinging man earrings tomorrow to send to Austrlia..i'm nervous!!! those are tricky little devils to make.

Anddddd....IndigoSilverStudio very kindly pointed me in the direction of this, a website called Alibaba that aparently sells mass produced factory-made products in China. And they have my bike ring!!!

When Char at Indigo messaged me saying that she "recognized my ring" on the website, i just assumed it was someone from alibaba writing in broken english being like yo, i'm "recognizing" your ring on my website and using it and there's nothing you can do about it.

which didn't make much sense, but i thought they somehow hacked into her Etsy and messaged me from there? For some reason? Like I said, not very logical. And I wrote back thinking I was talking to some guy over in China saying "kindly remove my ring." And char wrote back saying I can't, just wanted to let you know.

She must have thought I was a bit of a crazy craze.

So that was just a confused few minutes.

But still, what the eff? ????? if they start popping up in forever 21 we're going to have  REVOLT on our hands.

but i dont think i could ever not go to forever 21.

What a day of running around! I tell ya, I'm POOPED.

And I should be working on orders right now but I'm just telling myself I'll wake up super early and get started. But we all know how that turns out.

I hit snooze.

anyway, I dropped off some pieces at the DC Pop Up Shop in Shaw today- if you live in DC, there will be an opening party Friday night!! I'll be wearing my gold sequin blazer.

And even though I have a million things to work on for orders, I made these today!

So much is going on! This Friday is the opening of the pop-up shop Temporium in DC, where I'll have some things, and Saturday I'm doing a trunk show of sorts at Sugarhouse Day Spa in Alexandria, VA, which I'm excited/nervous for.

I reaaaaally want to buy new clothes for both, but I'm sticking to my clothing fast!! Not buying any new (or used) clothes for as long as I can hold out. We'll see how long it lasts...

This is a little vintage necklace that my jeweler-dad made in the 70's! It's vintage Pfeffer!

 

I made two of these for earrings at first, but loved the idea of having them as petite little pendants.

Holy Canoli!

I'm writing this post with 10 minutes left on my computer battery at gate C28 in Logan Airport, awaiting my short flight back to DC.

What a whirlwind of a trip! I left Ben on Sunday, hours after he threw out his back and was more or less immobile. Some fiance I am, right? But alas, wedding duties called! I flew home to Western MA, where my mum and I finally got Save the Date magnets out. To most people.

We also decided on a menu with the caterers, and I'm pretty sure I came to conclusion that I don't want wedding cake, but rather a table full of locally made organic pies! With pretty signs and labels, and a banner that says Oh Me Oh My, Love That Country Pie (bob dylan).

And I worked a lot with my dad and went a little wacky with Valentine's Day orders. And then I went to Boston and danced with my best gal pals at Middlesex Lounge in Cambridge, where there were lots of awkward girls dancing like the Sims, to quote my friend, which I thought was hilarious. Not that I'm any better than they are! To the contrary!

Now I'm wearing an itchy sweater, I look disgusting, and I can't wait to be home and nap.

House Tour!

I've always wanted to do a house tour like they do on Apartment Therapy and such, so when I was at my brother's new apartment in Boston yesterday, I snapped some pictures with my trusty phone to show off his keen design skills. Enjoy!
